The finalists for the 2013 Rawlings Gold Glove awards were announced today, and to almost no one in Baltimore's surprise, there were six players named from the Orioles. Manny Machado, Matt Wieters, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy were all named in today's announcement. The O's had a historically good defense (with a .991 fielding percentage, 119 errorless games and only 54 errors committed over 162 games) in 2013, so it comes as no surprise that so many players were nominated for the awards that recognize the best play at their particular positions. It's unrealistic to think the boys in orange and black will make a clean sweep of the golden mitts...or is it?
Vote how many Gold Glove awards you think the O's will bring home with them next Tuesday night and leave a comment telling us who you think the winners will be. There might even be a special prize if you predict the winners correctly!
